Greetings...

ah the life of a busy man.  I wish I knew what it was ;)

Running around for the past few weeks...

1. We went through layoffs at work.  I was fortunate enough to still have a job when all was said and done.  We are doing a bit more now and I try to make sure I am doing something all the time.  When they stop finding things for me to do they stop having a reason to keep me around...

2. Our Scoutmaster is stepping down and I am on the short list of persons to replace him.  It is taking longer than I thought for the Committee to come to a decision (mostly because we have only met once since the announcement was made ) but I have been taking some extra training and doing a presentation for it...

3. We just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary.  I usually post a little shout out to the wife but I didn't even have time for that...

4. Obama'mania hit the nation and my station was  not ot be left in the dust.  We covered the heck out of it and I was burnt out BEFORE the Inauguration even started...

That's it for now.  I have been working out 4 times a week and enjoying it and started South Beach again and we seem to be doing great...

Monday Morning Coming Down...

Woke up early and hit the Y again today!  Yippee for me!

Busy busy weekend!  The wife went to Chicago with the sister for her birthday.  Leaving me and the boy home alone.  Well I hit the To Do List and got several big things done.  First I spent most of Saturday at an Eagle Project helping out.  After that I came home with the boy and worked on the office big time!  While the floor is still a mess one would not believe the work I got done on the drawers and desktop!!!!

Watched a few movies (one good one bad) and let the boy and his friends stay overnight and hang out!

Sunday we woke up early and de-Christmased the house.  That was a job and a half but we got it 90% done.  Watched the Giants lose, hit Church and waiting for the wife to get home.

Finally sat down infront of the Tube and watched the return of 24!  Now that is a great weekend!!!

Friday...

The wife is going in Chicago with my sister for her birthday (sister not wife) so I am all alone with the boy this weekend.  which means I am all alone as he is 15 and has his own thing going on.

I hope to get some stuff done.  I have some Scout things and a inspector coming over for our new mortgage and then nothing.  Talk to me on Monday to see if I even got out of bed ;)

The Past...

The Past has a funny way of sneaking up on you.  Lately it has been  on Facebook where I have been hooking up with old friends.  Some from the near past like 5-6 years ago and others from 6th grade.  It has been fun and interesting seeing what has become of us now that we are closer to 40 than 30 (WAY too close) and how we are all doing.

Not once have I played the what if game.  It is interesting as I have re-meet former girlfriends and co-workers that I had a chance to go out on a venture with and so on and I have not regreated a single thing...

The Past has lead me to the Present and the future looks bright!

Feeling It...

Worked upper body yesterday so day is the off day.  Man I am feeling it today.  Very sore!!!  My Scoutmaster is stepping down and they are looking for me to step up.  It is extremely time consuming but with the help of the wife and son I think we can do it!!!!  First up is saying yes to the nomination committee then it goes to the Troop committee and they pick from the list the Nomination Committee gives them.  I wonder how many other names are going to be on it...

Fighting the Good Fight...

Day two and I am back from the gym.  had a great breakfast and worked out again!  Had a good dinner and snack so we are off and running on making this one stick...

work is doing well and life is good.  Our Scoutmaster is stepping down and they have asked me to step up (there is a nominating committee and I was asked to be on the list of potential replacements).  The wife and I have had some big talks and we talked to the boy as well, on how he felt about having a Dad as a Scoutmaster.  things look good, the process is involved and just getting started but looks to be wrapped up by February...

Have a great day!

Happy New Year....

With the number roll over comes that worldwide "Do-over"!  Everyone tries to flip over that leaf and do things they wish they did last year but never got around to it.  Or they look at their lives and decide to make a change.

I for one am not immune to this disease.  I have made and broken many a resolution.  They are my own and I will let you know if and when I make any of them.  But to that I will say that this is my year of true change.  If I am strong enough to see it total though we will see but it will be a hell of a ride...
