New Look

OK, so here is the new look!!! Thanks blogplates and francy!! Thought about a name change but it is my favorite Rush song and I love the lyrics. Thought about "Something for Nothing" and Joe Walsh's "Life Been Good", which I used as a sub-script. All in all I am happy with it, going to be adding pics in the New Year, starting with "A Day In the Life" from sh1ft.org.

Thanks for stopping by and returning on occation!!

PS: New title and new outlook for 2004!!!!!

Christmas was, in the end, great. The boy did well and was very grateful, which is nice to see in a 10 year old. The wife looks HOT in the new leather coat I got her and was quite happy with her gifts. I got my LOTR:TTT ultimate DVD (with Gollum statuette) and the Indiana Jones DVD Pack and LOTR:War of the Ring PC Game, now I need a new Video Card!!!!
The parents, brother (and wife), sister (and son), and Grandma were all happy with their gifts. Next year I an sure we will go all out to decorate as we did not get that chance this year. The wife is already out shopping and getting those 50% off Holiday decorations!!!!!

Still no word on the house, someone looked at it the day before Christmas so we should be doing follow-up next week. Fingers and all other parts are crossed!!!

New Years is on the way, another year already!!!!! This one was good to us, over all. I am short one Gallbladder and the wife was treated poorly but Blockbuster and the union added about 20% more grey hair and took another year off the life but all in all we are blessed. May the joy of the season and a promising New Year be with all of you!!!!!

The Friday Five

1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year?
Moving here to Indiana. It was very hard to leave a community that we've lived in for 10 years (the age of our little family). Friends, co-workers, teachers, coaches, you don't know what you have until you no longer have it. This move however is already improving our family life and we will be here for many years to come.

2. What was your biggest disappointment?
Not selling our home yet!!!!!!

3. What do you hope the new year brings?
Weight loss and happiness for my family.

4. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? If yes, what will they be?
No, as I always break them.

5. What are your plans for New Year's Eve?
Work until 11:35pm and haul ass home to make it for Midnight!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!

Another Christmas is here and gone and again I am at work. The family did well, Santa treated us kindly this year. Major tension when our family traditions clashed with my parent's traditions and yelling and crying ensued. I caved to the parents and feel I abandoned my wife. Life will be much easier when we are a family with our own home again.

The boy received a bike, skateboard, hamster, catchers mitt and assorted Chrstmas goodies from parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles!!!!! One lucky boy......

To you and yours MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Oh, and I started reviewing my books at my Reading Blog, here's the first one.

It's Christmas time and all I want is for someone to buy our house. I t has been a very LONG 2 months, we (myself, my wife, the boy, the dog) need our own home again. We are very grateful for my family's generousity but we need our own family home again. We hope and pray something will happen, but it will not be soon enough for our tastes.

Life is good, could be better, need to exercise more. Wife enjoying challenge of new job and boy loves new school.

Saw Return of the King last night and boy was it worth it. Mr. Lucas please watch ASAP and do not pull a MATRIX on Star Wars III.

All I want for Christmas is LOTR:TTT DVD:SE and LOTR:War Of the Ring for PC......all else is not needed, oh and gloves :-)

I have been reading a lot lately!!! More time now with a different schedule and no home improvements to do. Our new library is AWESOME!!!!! You would not believe the selection they have and plenty for everyone. I've been into Historical Fiction lately, Sharpe's series, Aubrey series, Cornwell's Grail and now a new Julius Cesear series. Usually at this tie of year the new Erikson novel (Malazan Book of the Fallen), an excellent fantasy series but this year the novel has been pushed back to March and the new GRR Martin is still MIA, so I don't want to start a new fantasy series with these 2 stalled. But I've found a few to add to my reading list so I might visit one in the near future........

Picked up the comics today, will have a new list tomorrow!!

As always check my reading list and please leave a comment.........

It's been awhile, still settling here in Indiana. Found a nice comic shop (not like my old haunt, Comic Book Heaven, but nice enough.). Been going to lots of movies with the wife and boy. She is working for a bank now and will have her own branch very soon, so far the move has been very good for us, now if we can only sell our house in New York.

In an effort to write here weekly, I am starting a new segment. No title just what I picked up at the comic shop this week, kind of an addition to my "What I Am Reading" site. So here is the first installment:

  • The Amazing Spider-Man 501
  • New X-Men 149
  • Uncanny X-Men 433
  • The Ultimates 12
  • Supreme Power 5
  • Ultimate Spider-Man 50
  • Sojourn 25-28

I am really enjoying the Ultimate line, and am awaiting the Fantastic Four version. I am sad at the turn of events in the X-Men books, the art is horrible and the story seems second-rate. Supreme Power is a JM Straczynski book and I've loved him since Babylon 5 Season 1 and Sojourn is a book I started with number 1 and missed a few issues but want to go back and read them all again. One of the better CrossGen books out there. I am trimming the collection a bit so will scale back the monthly pick ups, be very interesting what I stick with. Conan starts in 2004 and the regular Spidey titles are getting old quick, we shall see. I'll be back Thursday with what's in my bag.......
