Previous Encounter...

So I slept like a baby last night. Went right to bed at 11pmish. Woke up this morning with no brake in the night (that I know of). However, I will report something that seemed odd to me but disregarded on Monday. My wife woke me up on the way to work and told me to put the clothes in the washer in the dryer. I said fine and went back to sleep. I then got up and went to move the clothes, but it was still dark out and I could not see too well. When I got into the laundry room and tried to turn on the light my wife grabbed me from behind and hugged me with my arms pinned to my sides. It was dark and I could not see and could not lift my arms and said I had to go and when my 'wife' spoke I could tell it was not her and she said no don't go and then I felt a little one hug my legs and say the same thing. I made my way with them attached to my office and turned on that light but could not open my eyes, they kept saying stay stay and I finally said NO, I have to go and woke up in bed.

Until I was grabbed the dream was TOO real, I really thought I was up and freaked out at first and then realized it was a dream and tried to wake up. I dismissed the entire thing as a bad dream but after the other night...

PS to Murry, we know of no one who has passed recently. We have been very fortunate that we have not been to a funeral for some time....

Up All Night...

Haven't been sleeping well lately. Very restless. The other night the dog woke me up twice to go out. Once at 2am and once at 4am. Very tired all day yesterday.

Last night I got freaked out. Backstory: For years I would wake up in the middle of the night at 3am almost every night. Very EXTREMELY freaky to me but it has not happened in a few months. At around 3am last night my wife bolt straight up and screamed WHO IS THAT??? When I jumped and turned over, I swear by all I hold dear, I saw a shape moving from the side of our bed to the door. I jumped up and saw nothing, the dog and the boy were both in his room and all the doors were locked. I was up for some time. At another point in the night the dog made his way into our room and proceeded to wake me with her own bad dreams...

I am on pins and needles all day!

Angry Rants...

Can you believe that Sesame Street Season 1 & 2 on DVD are considered UNSUITABLE FOR KIDS, Sesame Street, UNSUITABLE. They have complaints about Oscars' "Grouchiness", Cookie Monsters' obsessiveness with Cookies and the character Allister Cookie on Monsterpiece Theater. What the hell is wrong with people today!!!! This is the last straw, I am done, people are freaking idiots, idiots I tell you. This seems something small but it is the end of America as we knew it growing up. It is all over people, start packing the bags. Christopher Columbus was evil, King George misunderstood, Hitler a product of a bad home and our men and women in the Middle East are as bad as the terrorist!!!!

What the hell is going on here? What happened to the children of the greatest generation? You know the ones that took out a massive war machine in 4 years? Those people who did without so many things so that we could stop Germany, Japan and the Axis. What happened to their children and grand children that 60 years later we have forgotten the definitions of patriotism, sacrifice and COMMON SENSE!!!! If my grandfather were alive today and someone told him Sesame Street was bad for kids he would tell them to suck an egg and then round up as many kids as possible a have an all day showing. And then the idiots with too much time on their hands would have him arrest for child endangerment or some bullshit reason and then this veteran of PEARL HARBOR would sit behind bars for showing season 1 of Sesame Street to 5 year olds.

It makes me sick!

The Day After...

Was it just me or did that Made-For-TV Movie scare the hell out of you as a kid?!?

Thanksgiving was once again a blessing for my family. We had my folks and my sister and my nephew over. The wife outdid herself as always. Deep-fried turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, creamed onions, stuffing, stuffed mushrooms, squash, and canned cranberries. We loaded up and found that several of us had NO ROOM on the plate for the actual turkey!!!

Dessert was homemade Chocolate cream pie, cannoles and apple pie, plus a fruit tray! They waited for me to get back from work and we ate at 3pm and then again later in the night and a 3rd time during the Colts game. We watched movies, played games and just sat and talked. I am fortunate to have a close and loving family and for that I am extremely grateful! A great afternoon spent with good food and great family!!!

Now off to work, but first let us see if the pants still fit!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!

Heart Full of Soul

What a week x 2!!! Yesterday was my first day off in 14 days. Between freelance work and illness at my main job I have been going full steam ahead! It was nice to sleep in and then not have to worry about getting ready to go out to work, I left the house twice. Once to pick up the boy from the campout and then other for mass. Otherwise I was in the sweats watching football, catching up on the PC and doing laundry. It was very nice.

Thanksgiving is upon us already. I cannot believe that the Holiday Season is here. We have so much work to do and there is never enough time to do it! The one good thing is that the house it clean and we are keeping it that way. So far so good...

The Writers strike is well under way and most of our shows will be going away in the next week or so. Which is actually fine with us. We are TV hoarders. We record entire runs of shows and when summer comes (or mid season break) we then have something to watch. It works very well now when it seems that our shows will not be coming back after the holiday break.

Well too much in my head but not enough time to write it all......

Losing Sleep

This is my 9th day in a row at work. I did a 12 hour freelance job on Saturday and as I left the building at 11pm my boss called and told me I was needed at 4am at the station. Then a full Sunday after working (church, family, Scouts) made sure I did not get home to even think about a nap until 5pm. I am still catching up on sleep, unsuccessfully. And I still have 5 more days to go until my next day off (more OT this weekend).

The wife got a promotion Friday. She was made a full Vice President! I am so proud of her. She has worked he butt off these past 3 years to make a name for herself here in Indiana. They gave her a bump in pay (10%), and bump in bonus percentage (not sure how that works) and another week of vacation. I am closing to my goal of being a kept man and on a lark I walked into my bosses office to hand in somethings and said (while still talking to my wife), oh my wife is now a VP and told me I have to put in my two weeks. My boss stopped in mid reach to grab the tape and just looked at me. I then told her I was only kidding and she started to breathe again. Oops! Well at least I know I am a valued member of the department, that or she does not feel like doing the paperwork to hire a new person. I am going with the first one, maybe........

Blamed For Something I Didn't Do...

Late last night, say around 3am, I was punched awake by the wife. Apparently I cheated on her. Not in real life (actually NEVER in real life) but in her dream and she was so made at me when she woke up that she hit me. She apologized and I went back to sleep only to be beaten awake several more times. Every time the wife went back to sleep she went right back into the 'cheating dream'.

For the record I have not and will not cheat on my wife. I do love her so, but if she keeps beating me up I might change my mind, in my dreams!!!!

Guilt

Walking into the library yesterday I saw a gentleman I used to workout with. He is about 82 years old and when I was going 4 times a week I saw him there EVERYDAY. He sat on a bike and did some weight lifting. We would always stop and say hello and he always had a dirty joke (oh the days before PC!!!!) that made me laugh. So there I was checking out a book and in he walked. He came right up to me and said " Where the hell you been, haven't seen you in months." I smiled and told him I had a ton of excuses but I am sure none would work. He laughed told me another dirty joke and then looked me in the eye and said " I better see you Thursday".

So I am going back to the Y on Thursday morning. I have wrapped up some things that needed wrapping and getting up with my son so I am up at that early hour...

Guilt is a good thing!

Monday Ramblings...

WINNERS!!!! The boy ended his Marching Band season at the Mid-States in Ohio and they came in FIRST OVERALL!!!!! It was a hard season but they were fantastic and he was VERY excited. He wore his medal all day yesterday and then had it on this morning as he left for school. We are very proud of him and the band. He had a great time this year ( a little bumpy to start) and is already signed up for Winter Percussion. Way To Go!!!!

LOSERS!!!! The Colts lost the big game yesterday. I think Losers is a bit harsh. They played fantastic, the defense jumped up and saved the whole game. Little Joe ran his a$$ off and kept us in the game. The only player not up to par was Payton. For the love of God man, THROW THE BALL!!!!

Writers Strike: I am torn on this. I am a big supporter of Unions (being a union man for almost 12 years) and would love for everyone to get back to the table. This could be bad for TV viewers. There are some greatly written shows on today and they will suffer. As for the movies, there has not been an original movie put out in some time, the odd one once a year or so but otherwise it is just remake remake remake...

Waking Up...

New month, new me. I did very well these past few weeks on South Beach. Lost some weight and have clothes that fit now. Time to move into the next phase, re-commit myself to the program and get back to the YMCA. I enjoy going there 4 times a week for almost 2 years. Now it is time to start it back up again...

I hope everyone had a great Halloween. WE had about 40 kids, not as many as last year. Maybe because the block is getting older or maybe because it is on a Wednesday this year and everyone had school the next day. Either way I have too much candy in the house that must GET OUT NOW!!!

Interesting incident on vacation last week. Our first day of travel was horrible. What was to take 6 hours took 12. At each step of the way we called our rental place and kept them informed as to our arrival time. It was a small airport and we did not want to get there and get stuck with a Yugo for the week. When we arrived there was one other person at the place, it was after 6pm and the lot was pretty empty. The other guy was approached and told that the lot was very thin this time of day (he to was late in arriving) and that they had a nice car for him (mid-size sedan) and were taking off x amount of dollars for the inconvenience. He looked at the employee and said "I want a big car". The employee looked at him, looked at the computer and said that there were none available right now, the guy got a little red and said "I WANT A BIG CAR". Pause, now I can understand a bit if you needed a big car (like I do) or you have a lot of people and or luggage but a) this guy would disappear in a Beetle and b) had ONE carry on.

They drove a Magnum (read BIG CAR) in and the driver got out and walked up to the annoying person and said Bryan?, he looks at the car and says, "Is that my Big car?" and reaches for the key. I step up and say I am Bryan and the employee comes to me instead. Annoying guy looks dejected. We load up our Big car when the other employee comes back and says to AG we have a Chevy Impala (also a big car) available. AG sighs and says, fine like a 3 year old who was just told he needed to take a bath before watching TV...

The rest of the weekend whenever something happened that we were unhappy with one of us would go, BUT I WANT A BIG CAR!!!!!!
